Sarah & Ethan | A Forest Wedding Near Mount Hood, Oregon

The ceremony took place in the forest, beneath an arch made of branches. Later, everyone gathered at a rustic outdoor pavilion for live music, dancing, and a very enthusiastic celebration. As a photographer, I particularly loved the contrast between the quiet portraits we made by the creek and everything happening at the reception. Having separate locations gave the photographs two completely different atmospheres, while the woods tied the entire day together.

For couples considering a forest wedding near Mount Hood, this is a good example of how much you can do with a beautiful natural setting, a little imagination, and a group of people ready to have a really good time.

Sarah and Ethan took inspiration from The Lord of the Rings for their wedding, and I can't think of a more appropriate setting than the forests around Mount Hood.

We started the day at a beautiful Airbnb tucked deep into the woods, with a creek running through the property. Between the tall trees, mossy rocks, and access to the water, we had so much to work with for portraits before the ceremony even began. Sarah's delicate silver headpiece and the wedding party's deep green dresses looked particularly good against all that greenery.
